I was a reserve (TA) for twenty years, After completing basic training 1996 I was denied my annual bounty by the OC @ 230 sqn, After appealing through the chain failed , I wrote to minister George Robertson who sorted it out and paid me my dues, However ,as a result The OC well and truly marked my card , He set the thugs on me, over twenty years I endured many thefts and violent assaults , I was abandoned on exercise , one on the live firing range @ Batus Canada, In Shaibah airbase I took seriously ill with DV, I couldn’t move , I was ordered to my duties and warned I’d be charged if I didn’t stand too . I couldn’t the section commander Corporal Paul Norton left me to die, After about half an hour crawling for help I noticed MSM reporters and cameras nearby, I yelled for help , suddenly the squaddies that ignored my plight decided to get all heroic and rushed me to the field hospital where I lay on a drip for 4 days with a dozen fans around my bed to cool me off and stabilise me , I saw our section commander give Iraqi kids his water bottle with urine in it .
I was bought up believing only foreign soldiers got away with doing such unsavoury nasty stuff ,. The rmps in Shaibah told me that it’s in my best interest to say nothing .
I was called a Scotch c%%t that wasn’t banter, but just nasty racism ,
The bottom line is , when the OC marks your card ,. You become a pariah, and you’re on your own, Times could be very difficult , however, I survived ,. Unlike the poor kids murdered in Deepcut by the filth within the British Army,
I met and worked along with. Some exceptionally decent soldiers,
The bully boys that hide behind their rank, uniform and OC are utter filth .
I once believed in the Queen and Army , not now , I will respect any professional humane soldier , no matter what army they belong .
