I would love to see this on main stream tv ….trouble is i always think though that youngsters consider themselves immune from alcohol problems
not Irish, but I signed the pledge and kept it (until I was 25) My REME cousin had probably drunk a few thousand pints by that age, and ,sadly, eventually suffered for it. The damage done by alcohol is very much hidden, almost taboo to the recruiters and other militarists . This is a powerful, straightforward clip, which stresses the absolute essential : are you ready to kill ? Youngsters generally consider themselves invulnerable, so getting killed is a lesser deal than killing others, which is- of course!- the purpose of training. One virtually never hears the old injunction “Thou shalt not kill” and it is , presumably, not a matter which recruiters highlight. We very much need a neutral defence policy which prohibits aggressive wars and drops war-mongering alliances.
Great video. Speaking from experience alcohol very nearly took my life after my struggles with PTSD but there is help available if anyone is suffering please reach out to your GP I would not personally recommend the RBL as I found them totally useless but the option is still there.
